Traveling is a luxury for the time being. For one second, consider the fact that THE MAJORITY of Vietnamese or Southeast Asian people in general cannot afford a trip around Southeast Asia, nor around the globe. Numerous people do not have full meals with sufficient nutrition on a daily basis, they barely make ends meet, not only feeding themselves but their children and elders also depend on them. Imagine, children having no resources to go to school and to have formal education, 80+-year-olds working indefatigably since dawn. How ridiculous, selfish, shameless and ignorant it is to act like this in developing countries e.g. Vietnam. I could never understand why people would beg for money on the streets, for the mere sake of traveling, while being so indifferent about the country, the culture, the language and the people of the land they are on. I mean, it’s complete ridicule and shame. Why give yourself a right to ask for luxuries from people who are struggling with their own lives, from people whose chances to go abroad are so fragile that they barely exist. I have been to Phú Quốc (where the Russian woman in the photo was begging for money) before, and I myself am much luckier than a lot of friends of mine, who have never boarded a plane before. Sure the people of Vietnam or other Southeast Asian countries are extremely nice and friendly and maybe for some irrelevant reasons they will give you money to well, travel. Nevertheless, it’s an advice from me that these foreigners get home and give the money that they have miraculously raised to people that need it more.

LMAO TRUE AND THIS IS HAPPENING ALL OVER SOUTHEAST ASIA. TBH no offence, like damn if ur that “broke” until you had to go and beg on the streets. don’t travel so far out of your country then.  If you want to live that “exotic and wunderlust” life, go to the forests or smth idk  xD

Just because Southeast Asia may seem to be this “exotic” and “hip” thing in western world, it doesn’t justify you to go around doing these kind of stuff. For SEasians like me, we see America and Europe as “exotic” and “hip” places. Do you want our broke ass to go around begging on your streets so that our travels are funded???? I’m pretty sure you guys would hate it too ,right?

There are literally other SE asians that go beg / sell their stuff in Singapore because they see $$$ so they can earn money for their families’ education and livelihood. People from Batam islands and Johor take boats/buses/car (to and fro) on a daily basis to sell their homegrown or homemade stuff to Singapore in hopes to benefit from the high exchange rate and get some income for their families.

If you guys see them, do not fund them srsly.
